Ten cliff-edge viewpoints across Europe — mapped, walked and told.

About the guide

A field guide to the
edge of Europe.

Where the land runs out — and how to stand there well.

For the places where the map ends.

The Cliff began with a simple obsession: the moment a coastline rears up and stops, hundreds of metres above the sea. Europe is full of these places — chalk and basalt, granite and limestone — and most of them are easier to reach than you think.

We set out to gather the continent's great cliff viewpoints in one honest, carefully researched place: not a list of photographs, but a working guide you can actually plan a trip around. Every entry is written the same way, so you always know what you're walking into — and what makes it worth the journey.

The same four things, every time.

So you can compare, combine and plan with confidence.
